#steniskanabala - Closing Event of Season 11

Moto-Pfohe, DHL Express Bulgaria, and Bulgarian Red Cross charity initiative achieved significant success – BGN 110,000 and 33 scholarship recipients for 20

The #steniskanabala Charity Initiative by Moto-Pfohe, DHL Express Bulgaria, and the BRC Marks Major Success – BGN 110,000 and 33 Scholars for 2024

As the proverb says, “It takes a village to raise a child,” and Moto-Pfohe adds – or a responsible company with a culture of giving that has a great idea and sticks to it.

For 11 years now, Moto-Pfohe’s #steniskanabala campaign has been supporting ambitious and inquisitive young people who may not have the luck of having two parents but have a vision for their future and see higher education as the path to achieving it.

The closing event of the 11th season of the #steniskanabala charity initiative, which provides scholarships for freshmen without parents, gathered nearly all 33 scholars, co-organizers from Moto-Pfohe, the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC), and DHL Express Bulgaria, along with donors and guests in the cozy ETO hall. The young people received their symbolic checks from Plamen Halachev, Commercial Director of Moto-Pfohe, Rumen Ivanov, Country Manager of DHL Express Bulgaria, and Academician Hristo Grigorov, Chairman of the BRC. They thanked the students for fighting for their future despite the obstacles and assured them that support is always within reach when the goal is worthy. The event was also attended by personal and corporate donors such as Dimo Nikolov, CAR Transporter, and Generali, who received symbolic plaques of appreciation from the BRC for their long-standing support and, in turn, reaffirmed their firm belief in the cause and the future of the campaign.

We can proudly boast that this year's result is exceptional – with a record-breaking amount of approximately BGN 110,000 raised, 33 young people without a parent (or parents) will receive a scholarship of BGN 3,000 from the #steniskanabala campaign for their first year at their chosen university (anywhere in Bulgaria). Additionally, 8 students will receive incentive scholarships for excellent and very good academic performance.

Over the past 11 years, the initiative has raised over BGN 710,000 through the sale of "t-shirts with a cause" and donations, providing over 300 higher education scholarships to disadvantaged graduates. The support for these students has evolved since 1997, when it first launched as a charity fashion show to raise funds for their prom night.

This year, in addition to the traditional corporate donors who have been with us through the years—such as CAR Transporter, AT Engineering, ELD Logistics, Express Logistics, and Vail Construction—we also thank those joining us for the first time: Generali, Black Sea Gold, and Briabuild Solar. The campaign would not have the same long-term impact without the personal emotional and financial support of the thousands of people who buy a "t-shirt with a cause," as well as the Pfohe family (Philip and Petra), Boris Marekov, Atanas Furnadzhiev, and Dimo Nikolov from Moto-Pfohe, and our long-standing partners – the BRC, DHL Express Bulgaria, and guts&brains DDB.
