The Charitable Initiative of Moto-Pfohe, DHL Express Bulgaria, and the BRC Marked a Major Success – 110,000 BGN and 33 Scholarship Recipients for 2024

The proverb says – “It takes a village to raise a child,” and Moto-Pfohe adds – or a responsible company with a culture of giving that has a good idea and sticks to it.

For 11 years now, Moto-Pfohe’s #steniskanabala campaign has been helping ambitious and curious young people who aren't fortunate enough to have two parents, but have a vision for the future and see their path to it through higher education.

The closing event of the 11th season of the #steniskanabala charitable initiative for scholarships for freshmen without a parent brought together almost all 33 scholarship recipients, co-organizers from Moto-Pfohe, the BRC, and DHL Express Bulgaria, donors, and guests in the cozy ETO hall. The young people received their symbolic checks from Plamen Halachev, Commercial Director of Moto-Pfohe, Rumen Ivanov, Country Manager of DHL Express Bulgaria, and Acad. Hristo Grigorov, Chairman of the BRC, who thanked them for fighting for their future despite the obstacles and assured them that support is always nearby when the goal is noble. The event was also attended by some of the personal and corporate donors, such as Dimo Nikolov, CAR Transporter, and Generali, who received symbolic plaques of gratitude from the BRC for their long-term support and, in turn, reaffirmed their firm belief in the cause and the future of the campaign.

We are proud to announce that this year's result is exceptional – with a record-breaking amount of approximately 110,000 BGN raised, 33 young people without a parent (or parents) will receive a 3,000 BGN scholarship from the #steniskanabala campaign for their first year at the university where they have been accepted (anywhere in Bulgaria), while 8 will receive incentive scholarships for excellent and very good academic performance.

Over the past 11 years, the initiative has raised over 710,000 BGN through the sale of cause-driven T-shirts and donations, providing over 300 higher education scholarships to disadvantaged graduates. Support for them has evolved since 1997, when it started as a charity fashion show aimed at providing funds for their prom night.

This year, in addition to the traditional corporate donors who have been with us over the years – such as CAR Transporter, AT Engineering, ELD Logistics, Express Logistics, and Vale Constructions – we thank the new partners joining us for the first time: Generali, Chernomorsko Zlato, and Briabuild Solar. The campaign would not have the same long-term impact without the personal emotional and financial support of the thousands of people who buy a T-shirt for the cause, as well as the Pfohe family, represented by Philip and Petra, Boris Marekov, Atanas Furnadzhiev, and Dimo Nikolov from Moto-Pfohe, and long-standing partners – BRC, DHL Express Bulgaria, and guts&brains DDB.

Expect the 2025 anniversary of #steniskanabala with new energy and momentum for an even larger campaign and even greater results! Follow the campaign on social media and look forward to the new season – #steniskanabala.bg.
