For more than 20 years, Ford Bulgaria and Moto-Pfohe have been supporting the "Perperikon" archaeological expedition of Prof. Nikolay Ovcharov

This year once again, we send Prof. Nikolay Ovcharov off to his new archaeological discoveries behind the wheel of a Ford Custom

This year we celebrate more than two decades of successful partnership between Ford Bulgaria, Moto-Pfohe, and the "Perperikon" archaeological expedition of Prof. Nikolay Ovcharov - a collaboration that contributes to the uncovering and popularizing of one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Bulgaria: the sacred Thracian city of Perperikon.

This year’s focus: the Temple of the Sun

A quarter of a century ago, Perperikon was an almost unknown site hidden among the forests of the Eastern Rhodopes, whereas today there is hardly a Bulgarian who has not heard of the ancient rock city. Thanks to the work of Prof. Ovcharov and his team, Perperikon has become a symbol of our rich cultural and historical heritage and one of the most visited tourist destinations in the country.

This year, the focus will be the full exploration of the Temple of the Sun, discovered in the summer of 2025. With its impressive structures and ancient atmosphere, the complex is a testament to the rich history of our lands dating back to Thracian times.

Support for archaeological explorations

For Ford Bulgaria and Moto-Pfohe, it has been an honor for over 20 years to support these large-scale archaeological explorations and to be a reliable partner in this significant mission for Thracian history.

Supporting such causes is part of Moto-Pfohe's long-term commitment as a responsible corporate citizen. Throughout its 35-year history, the company has created and invested in initiatives aimed at preserving our cultural, historical, and natural heritage, as well as developing education, sports, supporting disadvantaged children, and numerous other projects.

This year once again, we send Prof. Nikolay Ovcharov off to his new archaeological discoveries behind the wheel of a Ford Custom, and we eagerly look forward to the next pages of history that his team will uncover.
